Philosophy

CARRIGANE PHILOSOPHY

At Carrigane we believe that tamariki should be recognised and respected as individuals and that each has something unique and valuable to contribute.

We believe that tamariki learn through, in an emotionally warm, supportive, physically safe and fun, challenging environment.

We are committed to the partnership of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and to recognising this in our practice.

We believe that tamariki learn through whānaungatanga/reciprocal relationships.

We value tangata whenuatanga partnerships with whānau and the wider community.

We value whānau aspirations for their tamariki in regards to Ako/learning.

We believe that all tamariki have the right to inclusion and equitable opportunities.

We believe in manaakitanga/recognising, valuing and celebrating the diversity that tamariki, kaiako and whānau bring to our centre.

We believe in creating a learning community that empowers all, tamariki, kaiako, and whanau.

We believe that creativity is diverse and should be nurtured and supported.

We believe in fostering respect for the living and non-living environment.
